The Co-Chairs of the Society for Arab Music Research (SAMR) and the ICTMD Music in the Arab World Study Group invite submissions for an online symposium on the theme “Digital Music Cultures in the Arab World : Production, Scholarship, Circulation, Archiving, and Advocacy.” We invite you to submit your proposals for papers, organized panels, roundtable discussions, workshops, or other demonstrations of practice related to this theme, as further developed in the abstract below. Accepted presentations will be delivered in a one-day online symposium planned for Saturday, May 25, 2024, between the hours of 10a-6p EDT (3-11p GMT).
Please submit your proposal here. You are asked to provide an abstract (250 words maximum) for individual presentations, roundtables or workshops; for organized panels please submit an abstract for each individual presentation as well as a separate panel abstract, also 250 words maximum. Submissions are due by 11:59 EST Friday, March 15, 2024 (4:59am GMT Saturday March 16). You will be notified of the status of your proposal no later than April 15, 2024.
Accepted presenters are encouraged (but not required) to be active members of either SAMR or ICTMD/AW. There is no fee to participate in this symposium.
